Education & Events

BigPic_AlamoProperty Tax Consultant and Senior Property Tax Consultant registration must be renewed every two years with TDLR. Twenty-four (24) Continuing Education hours are required within the two-year period. Forty (40) hours of pre-licensing education is required for first time registrants and the successful passing of an examination administered through PSI, the testing agency for TDLR.

In addition to providing required continuing education for annual renewal of Senior Property Tax Consultant and Property Tax Consultant registration, TAPTP also has courses approved for credit needed to obtain the Senior Property Tax Consultant designation and Pre-Licensing Education. Sessions range from basic principles of consulting through valuation of various property types using all three approaches to value. Along with basic valuation concepts, courses are designed to introduce advanced methodology involving business intangibles, partial exemptions, special inventory and other issues resulting from new legislation.
