Tax Rate Information and Updated Forms

The Property Tax Assistance Division (PTAD) is no longer gathering tax rate and levy information for special districts through the Electronic Appraisal Roll Submission (EARS) process. Instead, this information will be gathered through a survey sent to appraisal districts. Appraisal districts will be sent the next survey in May 2013.

You may view the 2011 survey results on PTAD’s webpage Tax Rates and Levies by County.

The Texas Legislature added Tax Code Section 26.16 to require county tax offices in counties that maintain a website to post certain tax rate information beginning with the 2012 tax year. For more information, please see the enacting legislation and Comptroller Rule §9.1002 Posting of Tax Rates on County’s Internet Website.

Three forms were recently updated. Please note that you should replace those forms with the following:

50-129 Application for 1-d-1 (Open-Space) Agricultural Use Appraisal,
50-170 Request for Separate Taxation of Standing Timber, and
50-173 Request for Separate Taxation for Cooperative Housing Corporation.
